Congratulations Nik Dunham - Bronze Rating at MSHSAA State Music Festival

Congratulations to Nik Dunham for receiving a Bronze rating on his trombone solo at MSHSAA State Music Festival! Performing at State is an honor and we are proud of the hard work he has put in to get here. He was accompanied by Vicki Akin and we thank her for the hours of work she has put in as well.

Reminder: Roundabout Work Beginning This Week (per MoDOT)

On Monday, April 28, we received an update on the Route 52/Route 5 Roundabout Construction Project from MoDOT Communications Specialist Aaron Shurr.
 
UPDATE: Construction crews plan to begin work on the roundabout at the intersection of Route 52 and Route 5 starting the week of May 5. This will be completed at nightMonday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The intersection will remain open but narrowed to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the work zone. 
 

Please use caution during the time of construction (at night) when passing through these areas.

Versailles Middle School will be holding a 6th grade Bootcamp for current 5th grade students and their parents/guardians on Thursday, May 15 at the middle school. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and rotation schedules will be distributed. This is a great opportunity to meet the 6th grade teachers, learn about rules and procedures, and ask questions. Middle School Sports Interest for 25-26 SY ( for 25-26 SY 7th & 8th Grade Students)

Attention Parents,

Over the past few weeks, we've held several athletic interest meetings, and there are still more to come in the final weeks of school. Please check with your students for the handouts distributed at these meetings. These papers contain important information about summer workouts, camps, open gyms, competitions, and how to join team groups on ParentSquare to stay informed over the summer. Extra copies of most handouts and calendars are available near the office.

7th Grade Students Learn About Farming in Science Class

Morgan County R-II Board of Education President and local farmer, Dwayne Schad, visited Versailles Middle School on Friday, May 2 to speak with students about farming. Students were able to ask a variety of questions they had about farming and what Mr. Schad likes to do on and off the farm.

Support the U-Pick Community Garden - Join Us For A Silent Auction - Thursday, May 8

Versailles High School student, sophomore, Mylee Welch, is working hard to build community and bring a U-Pick Community Garden to the Morgan County R-II School District and community. The Versailles Future Farmers of America (FFA) students and advisors will be assisting her with this project by helping to organize the garden. 

On Thursday, May 8, a silent auction will be held in the Versailles High School Cafeteria to help raise funds for supplies to get the garden started. The Versailles High School and Middle School bands will also be having a concert in the Versailles High School Jeffery B. Carter Performing Arts Center (PAC) at 6:00 p.m.

Come take part in the silent auction and then enjoy the band concert after putting in your bids for some great items! It will be a great evening to come out and support Mylee's project, our FFA students, the community garden's start, and the VHS/VMS bands. Mylee is demonstrating what it means to be a Versailles Tiger, let's support her and this community garden that will eventually be a benefit to so many. We hope to see you on May 8, at 5:30 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria for the silent auction!

Don't forget! If you previously signed your 3rd-5th grade student up for Tiny Tigers in Training, it is coming up on Friday, May 16 from 4PM to 5PM and Saturday, May 17 from 9AM to 12PM.

If you did not get your student signed up in time to get a t-shirt, but they would still like to participate, you will need to email Versailles Middle School volleyball coach, Tynnett Surratt. They may still participate, but they will not be able to get a t-shirt as they have already been ordered for those that turned in forms on time. Her email is surrattt@versaillestigers.org.

The event will take place in the middle school gymnasium.
