Who Can Enroll Students?
A guardian can enroll a student. This person has a legally established relationship with a student and is responsible for the student's care and well-being (Only a guardian who lives with a student can complete enrollment or verification for that student.) Our registration system requires the parent/guardian to enroll and register the student to be known as the “primary household” even if the student lives with one parent/guardian and another for a different period of time/portion of the week. The other parent/guardian would be known as the “secondary household.” This is only for registration purposes to not cause errors in our Student Information System. Please be aware of this before registering if your student comes from a blended household.
Please Note: Parents wanting to enroll a new student at the Little Tigers Early Learning Center must first contact the building office to see if the program is open for new students and must have their child screened before enrollment can begin. Contact the Little Tigers Early Learning Center by calling 573-372-6261.
Required Documentation
The Morgan County R-II School District requires ONE(1) proof of residency for registering students for address changes. Acceptable proof of residency is listed below:
Primary List (Document must show company name & address, parent/legal guardian’s name, and current address, and date be dated within last 60 days)
If 1 proof of residency from the Primary List above is not possible or if the parent/legal guardian cannot produce acceptable proof of residency in his/her name, please contact the building principal by calling the building office.

Welcome to the Morgan County R-II School District! We are #UnitedForTigerExcellence! See important information by going to our Guide to Online Enrollment.
Students who are new to the district (not including those PreK & Kindergarten students previously screened) are required to register in person on the scheduled in-person registration days. You must bring the required documentation with you to complete the new student registration. PreK and Kindergarten students who were screened previously should be able to utilize the returning student application already set up in their parent/guardian’s Parent Portal account. If you are a parent of a previously screened PreK/Kindergarten student, contact your student’s building office for an activation code if you have never set up your Parent Portal account. They will ensure that the required information is in our SIS so that you can complete online enrollment. If your PreK student was not previously screened, you must contact the Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC) to see if there are any current openings and to schedule a screening. If your Kindergartener was not previously screened, you will need to register your student as a new student using the new student online registration application. You must come in person to do so.
If you are adding your new student to a returning student’s application, then you should plan to also come on an in-person registration day with the required documentation (e.g. student’s birth certificate, your driver’s license, any legal documentation, etc.).
When you come in person to register your new student(s) it is important to let the building secretary know you are enrolling a new student. They will direct you to a computer with the proper forms to complete. If you need assistance, they will be available to answer your questions. They will also be available to review your required documentation. If you have students in multiple buildings, register all students using one new student online registration application while at one building. Do not register each of your students on separate new student online registration applications. Only one new student application needs to be completed. You can add multiple new students to one new student online registration application. You will then need to go to each building to visit with the building secretary and ensure they review the required documentation. You may also be required to purchase Chromebook insurance if your student(s) is/are in grades 6-12.
If your family is new to the district and you have never completed online registration before as part of open enrollment you must complete it and it must be processed completely before you will be given an activation code for a Parent Portal account by your student’s building office.
Returning Students – Enrollment
Parents/Guardians of returning students can register their student for the 2024-2025 school year using their Parent Portal account. It is important to not start registration until all students are listed on your Parent Portal online registration screen. If a returning student is not listed on your Parent Portal online registration, then you need to contact your student’s building office before you start the registration process. If you attempt to start the registration process before all returning students are listed on your initial online registration screen your application will need to be deleted and started from the beginning. A student needs to have your household listed as their “primary” household for registration purposes. This is how the Student Information System (SIS) – Infinite Campus knows who is registering the student(s). If a student comes from a blended household, one parent will be listed as primary and one will be listed as secondary for registration purposes. If a student is not listed on your Parent Portal online registration screen, you may be currently set as the secondary parent.
If you need to add a new student to the district to your returning student application, this can be done on the returning student’s online registration application. For example, this could include a brother or sister who has not attended school in this district previously.
When registering students who attend different buildings at the Morgan County R-II School District, you can register all of the students on one online registration application.
The Web Instructions for Registration Through Parent Portal handout will assist you in getting started with online registration for returning students. If you do not remember your Parent Portal username or password, contact your student’s assigned building office for assistance. If your student is returning and you have not activated your Parent Portal account and need assistance contact your student’s assigned building office for assistance.
All returning students (K-12) will need to complete online registration during open enrollment using a school district computer at their student’s school building on designated dates (if assistance is required) or at home online.
Parents can receive assistance during in-person registration on the following dates:
High School students will have some forms that need to be completed at the high school office as part of the registration process and will need to visit with their building counselor to review their building schedule during the in-person registration period in August. The following high school grades should come on these corresponding dates, if possible:
It is recommended that a parent/guardian complete the online registration if at all possible to ensure the information is correct. It is recommended that parents have emergency contact information prepared and readily available for registration. High school students will have some forms that need to be completed at the high school office as part of the registration process and they will need to visit with their building counselor to review their building schedule during the registration period in August.
After registering in person, parents of students in grades 6-12 can go to the high school commons to complete their annual purchase of student Chromebook insurance.

Enrollment FAQs
My student won’t turn 5 until March (or April or May or June or July). Should I wait to begin the enrollment process until he/she turns 5?
No, as long as his/her birthday is before August 1, 2024, you can enroll your student for kindergarten now.
My student does not turn 5 until August 1, 2024 (or after). Can I make a special request for him/her to go ahead and start kindergarten this year?
Missouri Revised Statute Section 160.053 states that “a child is eligible for admission to kindergarten if the child reaches the age of five (5) before the first day of August of the school year beginning in that calendar year”. Therefore, a child with a birth date of August 1, 2019, or after would not be eligible for kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year.
For additional information, please visit the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Our appointment for immunizations isn’t scheduled until the summer. Should I wait to begin the enrollment process until his/her immunizations are up to date?
Immunization records DO NOT have to be complete or up to date to ENROLL your student. Your student just needs to have all required immunizations when they START school in August. Go ahead and enroll your student by submitting the incomplete immunization record and then submit the updated immunization record once he/she gets his/her shots before the start of school. Contact the nurse if there are special circumstances that would preclude your student from getting the required immunizations.
Where do I send updated immunization records?
You can fax the updated immunization record to your student’s assigned building office. Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC) – 573-569-7010; Versailles Elementary (VES) – 573-378-4272; Versailles Middle School (VMS) – 573-378-5432; Versailles High School (VHS) – 573-378-4697.
Or, you can email the updated immunization record to the building nurse: Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC) – Kellee Chamberlain / chamberlainkel@versaillestigers.org; Versailles Elementary School (VES) – Jennie Zolecki / zoleckij@versaillestigers.org; Versailles Middle School (VMS) – Colleen Davidson / davidsonc@versaillestigers.org; Versailles High School (VHS) – Jessica Johnson / johnsonj@versaillestigers.org.
Where do I go to get my child immunized?
If your child’s immunizations are not current, immunizations are available from your primary healthcare provider. They are also available at your county health department.
Morgan County Health Department--By Appointment Only
104 W Lafayette St
Versailles, MO 65084
573-378-5438
What documents are required to enroll my student in school?
Is my Preschool or Kindergarten registration in person or can it be done online?
If your Preschooler or Kindergartener completed screening in the Spring or Summer before the start of the 2024-2025 school year, then you should be able to register online if you have a Parent Portal account. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, you would need to talk to the building secretary to be sure your basic information and your student’s basic information have been added to our SIS (Infinite Campus) during the screening process. If it was, then they should be able to provide an activation code for you to set up your Parent Portal and then you will be able to register your student online.
If your preschool student did not participate in screening then you will need to contact the Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC) building office at 573-372-6261 and determine if they are accepting students and make an appointment for screening. If your Kindergartener was not screened and did not attend preschool within the Morgan County R-II School District previously, you would need to come to the Versailles Elementary office and complete online enrollment in person. You must bring the required documentation. See the question above that shares what documentation is required.
How long will registering my student take?
If registering your new or returning student during open enrollment, before the start of the school year, plan for the process to take at least an hour. If enrolling your new student during the school year, please call the building office and schedule a time to come in person to enroll your student.
I cannot find my child’s birth certificate. Where can I get one?
If your child was born in the state of Missouri, you can get a birth certificate from:
Morgan County Health Department
104 West Lafayette Street
Versailles, Missouri 65084
573-378-5438
Does the Morgan County R-II School District do preschool or kindergarten screening?
Yes, we do. Our screenings typically take place during the Spring. Your preschooler must have been screened and registration complete to to attend the Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC). Contact the building office for more information at 573-372-6261. Your Kindergartener does not have to be screened to attend Kindergarten. However, it is beneficial for you as a parent to have your child screened to determine if your child is prepared for Kindergarten or has any developmental delays that may need attention when attending Kindergarten.
Should my student attend Open House?
Yes! It is recommended that students attend Open House as this is a great opportunity for him/her to see the school, meet the principal, meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and more.
How do I know what school my student will attend? How do I know which Kindergarten Open House to attend?
If you have a question about school boundaries, it is important to call our district’s Transportation office at 573-569-7015 or email shuckt@versaillestigers.org so they can conduct an address look-up. Students in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) or Preschool would attend the Little Tigers Early Learning Center (LTELC) in Gravois, MO. Students in grades K-5 would attend the Versailles Elementary School (VES). Students in grades 6-8 would attend the Versailles Middle School building. And, students in grades 9-12 would attend the Versailles High School (VHS) building.
Will I know who my student’s teacher(s) is/are before we attend Open House?
Usually, returning high school students are sent their schedule prior to the start of the school year. This allows them to make changes during the week of registration. New high school students will work with a school counselor to build their schedule when they come to register.
Returning middle school students will receive their schedule at Open House. Depending on when the new middle school student is registered, the middle school counselor may have the student’s schedule completed and ready for pick up by Open House. If not, they should have it ready by the first day of school.
Returning elementary students should know who their homeroom teacher is just before Open House, once the week of registration is completed. This information will become available via their parent’s Parent Portal account. New elementary students who registered during the week of registration should know who their teacher is before Open House or may find out at Open House depending on the date of registration.
I am planning to move over the summer. Should I let the school office know before the end of the school year?
If you know that you will be moving out of the district it would be beneficial for your student’s new school district to request records during the month of June (if possible). This also helps the office to make note that your student will not be returning.
If you will be moving, but still be in the district, once you move you can call your student’s building office if it is the month of June as building offices are still open at that time. If it is during July, you can call the district’s Communications Office at 573-378-4145. You will be required to submit a new proof of residency, and we will update your address in our Student Information System (SIS) Infinite Campus and your student’s transportation information.
When/Where can I apply for free/reduced lunch?
Applications for free/reduced meals for the 2024-2025 school year will be available after July 20th, 2024. At that time, check the Morgan County R-II School District Parent Portal for an online application, or forms will be available for pick up in your student’s assigned building office.
Will my student be able to ride the school bus before/after school?
Yes! The Transportation Department staff will discuss this with you when you register your student or at Open House if you have questions. Or, you can call 573-569-7015 if you have questions before Open House. If you do not know which bus your child will ride, be sure to call before the first day of school. Students must be fully registered for school to ride on district transportation.
Free and Reduced Meal Application
With the new school year starting soon, the Morgan County R-II School District is encouraging families to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application.
